It's all about the bike, baby!

Shhh... don't tell Pat, but this week I am having a total love affair with my bike. Ever since my 2-hr ride on Sunday, I have been cranking out some of my best rides of the year. I rode a lot this week - Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. And I feel like all those hills, all the miles I've ridden with my team, all the loops around Hains Point pushing hard into the wind, are finally paying off. It feels great.

Today a group of us DNFers (now dubbed DTFers by my teammate Shannon - Determined To Finish!) rode the Lake Montclair bike course. The course is a 6-mile loop - on race day, we'll ride it 4 times. It's a great course for me - just enough roll to give you some fun downhills, but no major hills to stall out on. We rode two loops today, and I felt so great afterwards - even during my 15min run at the end. What an amazing feeling to know that I can ride that course well.

The whole group did really well, in fact. And most of us are regrouping tomorrow for another ride with some teammates. I already can't wait. Did I mention that I love my bike?

Have I mentioned how impressed I am with you? I'd still be crying in my beer and you're DTF, a phrase I am co-opting for sailing.

I feel exactly the same way about my bike.
