If you're here, you've probably already been to my other website and know what's behind my decision to spend my winter and spring getting ready for the Escape from Fort Delaware Triathlon in June. Fun times! Tonight I spent far too much time getting this blog up and running, so this note will be short. Just thanks for coming, and please check back often to see how I'm doing. I'll do my best to get a new post up at least weekly.
But you might wonder, where am I in my training now? Technically, I'm in "pretraining," which I'm pretty sure is just a fancy word for "convincing your body that it really does want to exercise 6 days a week." For now, the impacts on my life have been fairly small: I know the schedule at the community pool (hell, I know that we HAVE a community pool!), I convincingly execute the "biker nod" on the local trails, and I no longer come in from runs, face beet red, to collapse on the floor for five minutes. Now I make it to the couch.
More about pre-training to come. And if nothing else, be sure to stop in after January 27th to get the lowdown on the Team in Training Kickoff Breakfast! Inspirational event? Cult-like fervor? Chance to size up the competit... er... teammates? Time will tell.
